The last afternoon rooftop party of the ski season on April 9th saw a big turnout for quite a while.
A friend, Rebecca Mirsky and Christina Provenzano.
For those who arrived in ski boots, the AAM exchanged them for slippers to access après-ski evenings.
An undeniably unique accessory for the afternoon, serving as a traveling rising table.

The iconic Shigeru Ban, designed by the Aspen Museum of Art, raised the roof this winter with après-ski dance parties with roots and soul featuring resident DJ, Alex Golden. Although word has been spreading all season how special it was, I only reached the final session on April 9th and can’t wait to return once the series returns this summer as Sunday Sunset Events. Held on the third floor of the internationally acclaimed Museum of Contemporary Art and adjacent to the museum’s rooftop sculpture garden, these gatherings have growing local appeal, reviving a dance party culture in a welcoming and accessible way.

This winter they featured snacks from the new Rooftop Café and cocktails from The Slippery Slope, in conjunction with sponsors Doña Vega Mezcal, LALO Tequila, Obermeyer and Hooch Booch. Concert lighting and surround sound amplified the experience.

The Rooftop Café will soon launch its Sunday Sunset events with Golden back in the DJ booth – watch for more details on aspenartmuseum.org.

Another fun rooftop event to put on your radar – Drag Queen Brunch Bingo presented by the Aspen Art Museum and AspenOut with Mariam T on Sunday, June 5 at 10 a.m. Tickets are $160 and help kick off Pride Month with a cause.

The Rooftop Café serves breakfast, lunch and afternoons Tuesday through Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
