BEIJING, January 11 (BelTA – China Daily). – An Olympics-themed art exhibit titled “Greet the Winter Olympics, Beauty Chasing Dreams” was opened in Beijing ahead of the 2022 Winter Olympics. The exhibit is co-organized by China Media Group (CMG) and the National Art Museum of China (NAMOC).
The duration of the exhibited works is 80 years and consists of two chapters, “dream and strive” and “defend and compete,” NAMOC curator Wu Weishan said at the ceremony. The exhibition vividly interprets the Olympic spirit, presents a credible and respectable image of China, and tells the story of China’s sports development to the world, he added.
The exhibition features over 160 works of art, including “Coubertin” by Wu Weishan, “Conquering Mount Qomolangma” by painter Feng Jie and the portrait series of Olympic champion by photographer Pang Xiaowei.
Hu Heping, Chinese Minister of Culture and Tourism, and Shen Haixiong, Chairman of China Media Group, attended and opened the exhibition.
The exhibition will last 10 days, until January 16. NAMOC will also host “Portraits of Olympic Champions”, in which paintings by artists of Olympic champions will be exhibited at the exhibition site.
The opening ceremony for the 2022 Winter Olympics will take place on February 4 at the National Stadium and the Games will run until February 20.
